Foreign ministers from several countries are set to meet in Istanbul, Turkey, to discuss the Gaza issue. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced the development at a press conference in Ankara on Friday (31 October).
He stated that the foreign ministers will arrive in Istanbul on Monday to participate in the discussions. Representatives from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Pakistan, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia will be present at the meeting. These are the same countries that took part in the meeting with the US President held in New York last September.
Fidan also hinted that the discussions may include the possibility of forming a multinational force to help restore stability in Gaza. Despite continuous obstacles from Israel, the Turkish foreign minister assured that every possible effort is being made to maintain the ceasefire.
