Meghdol Marks 23 Years Anniversary With Album Finale Release

Bangladesh’s iconic band Meghdol marked its 23rd anniversary on 22 January, commemorating over two decades of influential contributions to the country’s music scene. Renowned for their distinctive sound and lyrical depth, the band celebrated the milestone with a special gathering of artists and fans, while also announcing the release of the final three tracks from their upcoming third studio album, Aluminium-er Dana, alongside a solo concert.

The new tracks, titled Carnival, Bagh, and Tare Kothay Khuje Pai, have completed recording and are currently undergoing music video production. Lead vocalist and lyricist Shibu Kumar Shil described the songs as a tribute to Meghdol’s 23-year musical journey. “These three tracks mark a special celebration of our journey,” Shil stated. “They will form the concluding section of our new album. Carnival is my composition and lyrics, while Bagh and Tare Kothay Khuje Pai were composed and written by Suman (Mejbaur Rahman). Bagh will release first, followed by the remaining two songs.”

Reflecting on the anniversary, Shil added, “We celebrated our 20th anniversary with a grand event. This year’s celebration is relatively modest, but we are planning a special concert after Eid. Looking ahead, we have already begun preparations for a live album to mark our 25th anniversary.”

Meghdol’s Aluminium-er Dana has already garnered widespread acclaim. The 2022 single E Hawa was a major hit and was featured in Suman’s film Hawa. The album’s title track, Aluminium-er Dana, released in August 2023, had previously captivated audiences through a live performance on Coke Studio Bangla Season 2 with Bonbibi.
