At least two missiles were fired from the besieged Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on Sunday, according to the Israeli military. The attacks originated from northern Gaza, targeting areas within Israel.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) issued a statement confirming the launch of the missiles:
Residents in the Lakhish and Ashdod regions were alerted in advance by sirens, giving them time to seek cover. No casualties have been reported from these strikes.
It remains unclear which group in Gaza was responsible for the attack. Analysts note that such incidents have become less frequent as Israel has intensified air and ground operations in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, civilian defence authorities in Gaza reported that at least six Palestinians have been killed since early Sunday morning due to ongoing Israeli attacks.
The conflict, ongoing for nearly two years, has seen Israel conduct continuous air raids and tank shelling, aimed at controlling Gaza. These operations have resulted in widespread destruction across Palestinian territories.
Summary Table of Recent Strikes
| Date | Origin | Target | Result | Casualties |
| 21 Sept | Northern Gaza | Lakhish, Ashdod | 1 missile intercepted, 1 hit open area | None reported |
| 20 Sept | Israeli airstrikes in Gaza | Gaza City and surrounding areas | Widespread destruction | ~90 Palestinians killed |
| 21 Sept | Israeli airstrikes | Various locations in Gaza | Ongoing bombardment | 6 Palestinians killed |
The escalating conflict continues to wreak havoc across Gaza, with civilians bearing the brunt of relentless air and ground operations, while Israel maintains heightened alert against cross-border attacks.
