A Dhaka court has ordered the remand of a model and social media personality following her arrest at the National Martyrs’ Memorial, where she reportedly laid a wreath on behalf of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during Independence Day commemorations.
The accused, Mosammat Simu Akter Brishti—popularly known as “Misti Subas”—has been placed on a two-day police remand for questioning. In the same case, co-accused Rafiqul Islam, also known as Durjoy, has been granted a three-day remand.
The remand order was issued on Friday by Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Tajul Islam Sohag after police presented the accused before the court.
