Motorcyclist dies after being hit by a truck in Tejgaon

A motorcyclist named Saidur Rahman (38) was killed after being hit by a truck in Tejgaon, Dhaka. The accident occurred around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday night near the Southern Pump area of Tejgaon.

The deceased, Khondaker Saidur Rahman, was the son of Khondaker Mofazzal Haidar, a resident of Pallabi in the capital. He worked as a merchandiser.

Saidur’s brother, Mostafizur Rahman, said that while riding his motorcycle at night, Saidur was severely injured when a truck hit him. Pedestrians rescued him and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdullah Al Maruf of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station said that the body was handed over to the family without an autopsy upon written request. The truck involved in the incident has been seized, but the driver is on the run.

Another passenger on the motorcycle was unharmed during the incident.
