Musician Ratul, Son of Actor Jashim, Passes Away

A.K. Ratul, son of legendary Bangladeshi film actor Jashim and the lead vocalist and bassist of the rock band ‘Owned’, has passed away. The incident occurred on Sunday, 27 July, at approximately 3:30 PM, when Ratul suffered a cardiac arrest while working out at a gym in Uttara, Dhaka.

The tragic news was confirmed to the media by the band’s lyricist, Siam Ibn Alam, who stated that Ratul suddenly fell ill at the gym and was immediately rushed to Uttara Crescent Hospital. He was later transferred to Lubna Hospital, where doctors sadly pronounced him dead on arrival.

Ratul’s Career and Contributions

Ratul played a vital role in introducing a fresh sound to Bangladesh’s rock music scene. The debut album, One (2014), marked the band’s entry into the music industry. Their 2017 follow-up album, Two, brought them nationwide popularity and a dedicated fanbase.
