National Kabaddi Championship Begins Tomorrow with 64 Districts Competing

The National Kabaddi Championship 2025 for both men and women, organised in celebration of the Festival of Youth 2025, is scheduled to commence on Tuesday with teams from all 64 districts of the country participating.

To ensure wide representation and structured competition, the tournament is divided into eight zones, each comprising eight districts. The zones are named after Bangladesh’s prominent rivers, enhancing the cultural and geographical symbolism of the event.

Tournament Structure

  • Zonal Stage: Each zone will hold matches among its eight districts.
  • Inter-District Championship: The winner from each zone will qualify to compete in this round.
  • Final Stage (National Championship):
    The top four teams from the semifinals of the Inter-District round will advance and join services teams (likely armed forces and institutional sides) in the National Championship to vie for the title.

This championship not only promotes the indigenous sport of kabaddi but also aims to foster youth engagement and regional representation, symbolising national unity through sporting spirit.
