National Life Insurance PLC, the largest insurance provider in Bangladesh, successfully convened its annual year-end review meeting on 27 December 2025. The high-profile event took place at the Dream Holiday Park in Narsingdi, drawing an immense crowd of approximately 6,000 development officers from the greater Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, and Narsingdi regions.
The meeting was chaired by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Md. Kazim Uddin, with the Chairman of National Life, Tofazzal Hossain, presiding as the chief guest. The event served as both a strategic audit of the year’s achievements and a celebratory gathering for the company’s vast workforce. Mafizul Islam, the area head for Brahmanbaria and Sylhet, inaugurated the proceedings by presenting floral greetings to the Chairman.
During the session, the company demonstrated its commitment to policyholder welfare by settling insurance claims worth 1.75 crore BDT. Chairman Tofazzal Hossain personally handed over the claim cheques to beneficiaries, emphasizing that the company’s structural integrity is strengthening daily. He lauded the “highly skilled and trained” workforce for increasing National Life’s public acceptance and revealed ambitious plans to expand the company’s operations to various international locations in the near future.

CEO Md. Kazim Uddin highlighted the company’s stellar commercial success over the past five years. He noted that the firm has successfully brought 7.2 million people under the umbrella of insurance. Addressing the gathered officers, he remarked on the robust financial foundation of the company, which now allows for the remarkable feat of settling claims within just one hour—a significant departure from traditional industry delays.
Kazim Uddin further observed that the public perception of the insurance sector has shifted dramatically. Once an overlooked industry, insurance is now emerging as a “premier profession” in Bangladesh. He concluded with a bold vision for the future, stating that National Life aims to deliver its services to every single household in the country within the next five years. Senior officials, including Deputy Managing Directors Probir Chandra Das FCA and Md. Abul Kashem, also shared their insights on enhancing renewal premium collections and expanding Takaful services.
