Nationwide Fuel Monitoring: 386 Operations in 24 Hours

In a concerted effort to maintain stability in the country’s energy supply, authorities conducted 386 operations and mobile court sessions across Bangladesh over the past 24 hours. These actions resulted in 214 cases being filed and a total of 9,62,500 taka in fines being imposed on offenders.

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources shared these figures in a verified post on its official social media account on Monday, 30 March. According to the post, the operations were carried out simultaneously in all 64 districts on 29 March, targeting irregularities in fuel distribution and energy management.

Officials reported that legal measures were taken against individuals and entities found violating energy regulations. The ministry emphasised that the magistrates of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources continued operations in major cities, ensuring strict enforcement of the law. Authorities have also assured the public that such monitoring operations will remain ongoing to prevent disruptions in energy supply.

Energy officials highlighted that these inspections are part of a continuous nationwide strategy to monitor fuel stations, verify compliance with pricing regulations, and curb hoarding or illegal sales of petroleum products. The ministry has urged citizens to report irregularities promptly, emphasising that public cooperation is crucial for maintaining an uninterrupted energy supply.

With the approaching summer season, when energy demand typically rises, authorities are stepping up preventive measures to ensure fair distribution of fuel and electricity. Officials also indicated plans to increase mobile court operations in urban centres where violations are more frequent.

This comprehensive monitoring effort reflects the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and the smooth functioning of the country’s energy sector. Citizens are being reassured that vigilant oversight will continue, reducing the risk of shortages or price manipulation.
