Hasnat Abdullah, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP) for the southern region, said that those who want to avoid being harmed in party conflicts should join NCP politics instead. People are tired of armed politics and extortion. The upcoming election will focus on defeating mafia, extortionists, and bullets. In Chittagong, bullets have become more powerful than ballots, and those responsible will be held accountable. Those denied BNP nominations who wish to contribute to building the country are welcome in NCP. He also emphasized that NCP does not believe in alliances; the focus is on rebuilding the state rather than seat redistribution. Wherever NCP takes a position, BNP-Jamaat will be compelled to follow.
He made these remarks while addressing a coordination meeting on Wednesday (5 November) evening at the Engineers Institute in Chittagong, aimed at energizing NCP’s activities in the metropolitan areas (north and south). He also provided leaders with guidance to strengthen party operations.
Expressing frustration with two interim government advisers and their activities, Hasnat stated that the government’s most failed project is the health adviser, who does not understand health but focuses only on collecting installments and profits from medicine sales. He said the loss of a July war veteran’s eye in Khulna would be attributed to this adviser.
Regarding the deputy adviser of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, he said that if the dues of July war veterans are not settled quickly, they will be collected from the expensive cars in protocol.
He further mentioned that among Chittagong NCP leaders, there is excessive quorum. To maintain their existence, quorum must be eliminated. Attempting to succeed alone will lead to failure, while survival requires collective action. Myman politics must be avoided.
The meeting was chaired by NCP Chittagong metropolitan chief coordinator Mir Arshadul Haque. Special guests included ASM Suja Uddin, divisional organizational secretary of Chittagong, Mohammad Hasan Ali, chief coordinator of Chittagong South, Sagupta Bushra Mishma, chief coordinator of Chittagong North, Zubairul Hasan Arif, Imon Syed, central member Zubairul Hasan Manik, Jawadul Karim, and Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair.
