Sammilito Islami Bank PLC has been included in the list of scheduled banks. Bangladesh Bank issued the notification on Monday (1 December).
The notification was issued by Dr. Md. Kabir Ahmad, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank.
It stated that under section 37(2)(a) of the Bangladesh Bank Order, 1972, the bank has been classified as a scheduled bank. Its English name is ‘Sammilito Islami Bank PLC’.
With this listing, another institution formally joins the banking sector, formed recently through the merger of several distressed banks.
