At least nine Afghan citizens were killed in a bombing attack by Pakistan in Khost province, Afghanistan. Among the dead, eight are children and one is a woman. This information was reported by Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera, citing the Afghan government.
On Tuesday (25 November), Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Taliban government of Afghanistan, stated that Pakistan launched the attack at midnight. Simultaneously, Pakistan conducted attacks in the northern Kunar and eastern Paktia provinces, killing at least four civilians.
Mujahid wrote in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), “Pakistan has bombed the homes of ordinary people. At least nine children (five boys and four girls) have been killed, and many houses have been destroyed.” Pakistan has yet to make any comment on the attack.
However, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement saying that on Monday, security forces conducted an operation after receiving information about the presence of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) members, who are known as “fitna al-khawarij” in Pakistan. During the operation, Pakistan’s forces effectively struck the terrorists’ positions, and after a fierce gunfight, 22 Khawarij members were killed.
The ISPR further stated that counter-terrorism operations by security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue at full speed to eliminate foreign-backed terrorism.
