No One Can Stop the Election Except Allah: Salahuddin

BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has stated that no one, except Allah, can prevent the upcoming election in February. He further added that the election would be held before the Ramadan of 2026 and that no one would be able to stop it—only Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, has the power to do so.

He made these comments while addressing the conference of the Netrokona district BNP on Saturday (30th August) as the chief guest.

Salahuddin Ahmed said, “There are ongoing conspiracies surrounding the election. However, the election will be completed before the next Ramadan. The people of this country will guard the election vigilantly.”

He continued, “We are working on constitutional reforms. We are making democratic reforms in the state structure. Our goal is to ensure that fascism never takes root in this country again.”

The BNP leader also mentioned that after the upcoming parliamentary elections, the party would implement the required reforms. He pointed out that reforms which do not require constitutional amendments could be implemented immediately by the current government.

He added, “The people of this country are now focused on the election. Anyone who opposes the election will be rejected by the people of Bangladesh.”

Special guests at the conference included Syed Alamgir, member of the Chairperson’s Advisory Council, Joint Secretary General of the National Executive Committee Habib un Nabi Khan Sohel, Organisational Secretary Md. Shariful Alam, and Legal Affairs Secretary Barrister Kaiser Kamal, along with other national leaders.

According to party sources, a total of 1,515 councillors from 15 units, including 10 upazilas and 5 municipalities of the district, participated in the conference. They will elect the district BNP president and general secretary through direct voting.

In the second session, voting will take place to select one president from two candidates and one general secretary from three candidates. The atmosphere surrounding the conference is filled with a sense of festivity among the party leaders and activists.
