Nur Receives Call from Chief Adviser, Promises of Investigation

Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser, has inquired about the health condition of Gono Adhikar Parishad president Nurul Haq Nur. On Saturday, at around 1 p.m., the Chief Adviser called Nur, checking on his health and assuring that action would be taken against those involved in the incident.

This information was confirmed by Abu Hanif, a senior member and media coordinator of Gono Adhikar Parishad.

He mentioned, “At 1 p.m. on Saturday (30th August), the Chief Adviser called. During this conversation, Nurul Haq Nur provided the Chief Adviser with details of the incident that occurred the previous day. The Chief Adviser assured that an investigation would be conducted into the Kakrail incident, and those responsible would face action.”

Meanwhile, following the incident on Friday (29th August) night, both legal adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul and the Chief Adviser’s press secretary Shafiqul Alam visited Nurul Haq Nur at Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital.

At around 9 p.m. on Friday, after the clash between the Jatiya Party and Gono Adhikar Parishad in Bijoynagar, Nurul Haq Nur and several others were severely injured by baton charges from law enforcement officers in front of Al Razi Tower. Nur was rescued from the scene by his party members and quickly taken to the hospital.

Multiple videos circulating on social media show that Nur’s face and chest were covered in blood, and his nose appeared to be severely damaged. During this time, he was seen being taken on a stretcher to the hospital by party leaders and activists.
