Media personality and physician Abdun Noor Tushar has commented that vile obscenity is not a form of political expression or slogan, but rather a distorted mental condition.
He made the remark on Saturday (9 August) in a status posted on his verified Facebook page.
Abdun Noor Tushar wrote:
“This country fought a Liberation War, and not a single obscene speech came out of it. Instead, it was a time of extraordinary songs and poetry.
Freedom—you are the immortal poetry of Rabindranath Tagore, the eternal song;
Freedom—you are Kazi Nazrul’s fierce, curly-haired revolutionary, trembling in the joy of creation…”
Through this reflection, Tushar underscored that the essence of national identity and struggle lies in cultural depth, artistic integrity, and emotional eloquence—not in vulgarity or crude rhetoric disguised as political discourse.
