On Stage, Shaan Reminds Shubhshree of Dev

During the celebration of his silver jubilee in Kolkata, India’s popular singer Shaan enthralled the audience with his performance. Among the attendees was Tollywood actress Shubhshree Ganguly, whom Shaan playfully reminded of her onscreen pairing with actor Dev, evoking nostalgic memories for the audience.

Seeing Shubhshree, Shaan said directly: “The song you had with Dev…”

Shubhshree replied, “Yes, I remember, ‘Tomake Shrabone’.”

Immediately, Shaan began singing the song, and Shubhshree joined in, harmonising with the singer.

For the audience, this performance was a revival of cherished memories. The song from the film ‘Challenge’ continues to enjoy popularity, and this event highlighted that enduring appeal. It was in this film that viewers first saw Dev and Shubhshree as an onscreen pair, a duo that quickly became a favourite both on screen and off.

Dev–Shubhshree: A Beloved Onscreen Pair

Their pairing’s popularity was particularly evident with ‘Dhumketu’, where fans eagerly awaited its release after a decade, creating a historic moment in Tollywood fandom.

Following the release of ‘Dhumketu’, misunderstandings arose between Dev and Shubhshree for certain reasons. Many speculated that their friendship might come to an end, with communication and interactions potentially ceasing.

However, reports now suggest that the pair have reconciled. Dev recently stated in an interview: “I would definitely like to work with Shubhshree again. That misunderstanding was nothing. We will surely collaborate in the future.”

Shubhshree herself has also emphasised that she does not dwell on the past. She focuses on the present and future, balancing her professional commitments alongside her happy family life with husband Raj and their two children, Yuvan and Yalini. Dev has praised her ability to maintain this work-life balance.
