Tensions flared once again in the capital as students from Dhaka College and Dhanmondi Ideal College engaged in violent clashes in the Science Lab area of Dhaka on Thursday morning. According to eyewitnesses, the altercation escalated rapidly when a group of Dhaka College students reportedly advanced towards Dhanmondi Ideal College around 11:30 a.m. Police were called to intervene and deployed two rounds of tear gas inside the Dhaka College campus to disperse the students, temporarily restoring order.

A Dhaka College student, speaking on condition of anonymity, alleged that in the past two days, seven Dhaka College students had been attacked by Dhanmondi Ideal students. He claimed that the assaults involved crude weapons, including makeshift Chinese swords, intensifying the severity of the confrontations.

During the clashes, students hurled bricks and stones at the police, who responded with tear gas to control the situation.
