One Arrested Over Factory Worker’s Death in Tongi

A worker at Hock Food Industries Limited in Tongi has died after being seriously injured while using an air compressor. Police have arrested Robin Mia (18) in connection with the incident. The deceased worker, Golam Rabbi (18), was the son of Md. Mamun Mia from Gurgullar Mor, Turag, Dhaka.

Police said that on Saturday (29 November), during work at the factory, the accused Robin used an air compressor, which inadvertently sent air through Rabbi’s trousers, causing him serious injury. Rabbi was admitted to United Hospital in Dhaka and passed away early on Sunday morning.

Following the death, police recovered the body, completed a scene report, and sent it to Gaziipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Tongi East Police Station OC Md. Wahiduzzaman confirmed that an unnatural death case has been filed.

The factory manager, Nurunnabi Talukdar, confirmed the incident.
