One Dead, Six Injured in Road Accident in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, July 20, 2025 – A tragic road accident in Dinajpur resulted in the death of one man and left six others from the same family injured earlier today.

The deceased, Jahidul Islam, aged 30, was the son of Chan Mia from Debipur Village, located in the Nijpara Union of Birganj Upazila in Dinajpur District.

Details of the Accident

The incident occurred at approximately noon in front of Nashipur Cold Storage, situated along the Dinajpur-Dashamile Highway. A covered van collided with an easy bike travelling in the opposite direction. The impact of the collision left all seven passengers on the easy bike critically injured, according to Sub-Inspector (SI) Rezaul Karim of the Dashmile Highway Police.

Victims’ Condition and Medical Attention

The victims were quickly rushed to Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, Jahidul Islam succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.

According to the police, the family members involved in the accident had been on their way back home after visiting a sick relative at the Islamic Hospital in the district town.
