Pakistan has expressed concern that a full-scale war with India could break out, and the country is not ruling out the possibility. Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that the nation remains fully alert to deal with any potential conflict.
In an interview with Pakistan’s Samaa TV on Tuesday (18 November), Khawaja Asif said, “We are not underestimating India in any way, nor are we trusting them under any circumstances. Based on my analysis, I cannot rule out the possibility of a full-scale war or sabotage from India. This could include cross-border infiltration. We must remain prepared at all times.”
Recently, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi made remarks regarding India-Pakistan relations. He stated that India’s “Operation Sindoor,” conducted in June, was an “88-minute trailer,” adding that India was fully prepared to teach its neighbour how to behave.
Following this “88-minute trailer” remark, the Pakistani Defence Minister reiterated Pakistan’s readiness for war.
Earlier, Khawaja Asif had issued a sterner warning to India, saying, “We are fully prepared to face the enemy on both our eastern (India) and western (Afghanistan) fronts. Allah helped us in the first round, and He will assist us in the second. If they push for a final round, war will be our only option.”
It may be noted that last month, severe clashes erupted along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, during which Pakistan launched airstrikes inside Afghan territory. However, the conflict subsided following mediation by countries like Qatar and Turkey.
