Pakistan’s Coaching Staff Arrive Ahead of ODI Series

As anticipation builds for the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series between Bangladesh and Pakistan, the first members of the visiting side have touched down in Dhaka. On Saturday, five key figures from Pakistan’s coaching staff arrived in the Bangladeshi capital, signalling the team’s imminent arrival ahead of next week’s matches.

Among the arrivals is Pakistan’s head coach, Mike Hesson, accompanied by fielding coach Shane McDermott and three additional support staff members. The group’s presence allows for early planning and coordination ahead of the series, which promises high-intensity competition between two of South Asia’s cricketing powerhouses.

The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that the remainder of the squad will arrive in Dhaka in the coming days, ahead of the first ODI scheduled for 11 March.

Bangladesh Prepares

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh national team has already commenced preparations for the series. Training sessions are underway at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, with players focusing on both batting and bowling drills to sharpen their skills.

In addition, the Bangladesh side played a day-night practice match on Friday, providing valuable match-simulation experience and assessing player form ahead of the first ODI. Coaching staff emphasised fine-tuning strategies to counter Pakistan’s strengths, particularly in their bowling attack.
