‘Pinik’ Misses Eid Release Window

The much-anticipated film Pinik, originally slated for release during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr festivities, will no longer reach cinemas in time for the holiday season. The announcement has disappointed industry observers and cinema-goers alike, as the festive period is traditionally considered one of the most lucrative windows for film releases.

Directed by Zahid Jewel, Pinik features a popular on-screen pairing of Ador Azad and Shabnam Bubly, both of whom have garnered significant attention in recent years for their performances. However, the release and distribution director, Simon Tarik, has expressed frustration over the circumstances that led to the film’s withdrawal from the Eid lineup. Tarik also alleged unprofessional conduct on the part of the certification board’s leadership, claiming that while other films received prompt attention, Pinik faced unexplained delays. He suggested that this disparity in treatment had placed the production at a significant disadvantage.

The financial implications of the delay are expected to be considerable. Missing the Eid release window often translates into reduced audience turnout and diminished revenue potential, as holiday periods typically draw the largest crowds to cinemas.
