Police Attacked During Operation in Comilla, 3 Officers Injured

During an operation at a police checkpoint in the Dhormpur Railgate area of Comilla, officers came under attack. The incident occurred on Saturday (22 November) at noon.

After police detained Robin, a wanted suspect from the Dhormpur area, tensions arose between the authorities and local residents. At that time, attackers began hurling bricks and stones at the police and their vehicles. Robin managed to escape by biting one of the officers.

Following the incident, additional police, RAB, and military personnel conducted an operation in the Dhormpur area. According to the police, Robin is a wanted criminal. One police vehicle was damaged during the attack, and three officers were injured.

Comilla’s Additional Superintendent of Police, Saiful Malik, stated that during the checkpoint search, a knife was found with Robin. This led to tensions between police and local drug dealers. Subsequently, the dealers threw bricks and stones at the officers, and Robin escaped after biting a police officer.
