Potential peace discussions surrounding the Russia–Ukraine war have begun to take on a structured form. The meeting may take place in Turkey, according to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. He shared this information in an interview with the Turkish TV channel A Haber.
Fidan said that they believe a peace dialogue on the Ukraine issue will be held very soon in Turkey. In his words, he thinks the meeting will take place in Turkey. It may be held elsewhere as well; however, he is certain that the time for peace has arrived and it will materialise very soon.
The Turkish foreign minister further stated that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine is now at its closest point to an end. In his opinion, the war has now reached the nearest phase to stopping… They observe that all the necessary conditions for a ceasefire have matured.
He added that what is needed now is to initiate formal discussions and take concrete steps to move forward. He also mentioned that Turkey has already put forward several proposals in this regard. Fidan expressed hope that these proposals will be implemented.
