Private Tutor in Expatriate’s Wife’s House, Then…!

In Kalukhali Upazila of Rajbari, a man physically assaulted an expatriate’s wife and her private tutor following allegations of an extramarital affair. On Friday (October 24) afternoon, several locals in Harinbaria village reportedly carried out the attack. The incident caused widespread outrage after videos of the assault circulated on social media.

According to local sources, the private tutor, Samoser, who lived in Harinbaria village, developed an illicit relationship with the expatriate’s wife while teaching her privately at her home. Around 4:00 pm on Friday, when Samoser entered the house, a group of local youths surrounded it. They later dragged the woman and Samoser outside and tied them to the veranda pillars, physically assaulting them.

In the first video (2 minutes 25 seconds), a few teenagers are seen knocking on the tin-roofed house’s door. A woman inside asks who they are, and the teenagers identify themselves. As soon as the door opens, several adults enter the house and, shortly after, drag out the woman and Samoser.

A longer video (4 minutes 30 seconds) shows the woman and Samoser tied to the bamboo pillars of the veranda with rope, their hands and waists bound. Nearly fifty people, including many teenagers and young men, are present. In the video, some remove the woman’s headscarf, while others try to restrain the injured Samoser, who appears unwell.

Eyewitnesses say that during the assault, Samoser was taken in a van to Kalukhali Upazila Health Complex. However, he later went missing.

OC of Kalukhali Police Station, Md. Zahedur Rahman, stated that police arrived at the scene in the afternoon after receiving the news. Although the expatriate’s wife was found, she refused to speak. Samoser was sent to the hospital but went missing before reaching it. So far, no formal complaints have been filed. Police said legal action will be taken if a complaint is lodged.
