Promising Footballer Dies Following On-Field Injury

Former Arsenal footballer Billy Vigar (21) tragically lost his life after sustaining a serious injury during a match.

Vigar, a forward for Chichester City, suffered a severe head injury during a match against Wingate & Finchley in the Isthmian League. The match was abandoned just 13 minutes after the incident due to the severity of the situation. Vigar remained in a coma following the brain injury and sadly passed away on Thursday. His death was confirmed in an official statement by Chichester City.

In their statement, Chichester City noted: “After suffering a serious brain injury, Billy Vigar went into a coma. Surgery was performed to try to save him, and while there was slight improvement, the injury was so severe that, ultimately, he left us.”
