In a major overnight operation in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, police successfully apprehended six alleged robbers along with two other suspects while they were preparing to carry out a robbery. The raid was conducted in the Chittaranjan Ghat and Majhipara areas of Siddhirganj, where law enforcement officers recovered a range of weapons, narcotics, and other equipment typically used in criminal activities.
According to police reports on Thursday, during a targeted blockade operation in Chittaranjan, near the eastern bank of a large pond adjacent to a teak plantation, officers noticed several individuals acting suspiciously. A swift intervention led to the detention of six individuals suspected of orchestrating a robbery, while a separate operation in the vicinity resulted in the arrest of an additional two suspects.

Most of the suspects are residents of different neighbourhoods within Siddhirganj.
Police confirmed that a variety of weapons and illegal substances were seized from the suspects, including knives, cleavers, saws, iron rods, SS pipes, and other sharp implements. Narcotics recovered during the operation included 100 packets of heroin and 50 yaba tablets.

Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Barik stated that Sub-Inspector Gazi Mahtab Uddin filed two separate cases against the eight suspects. Law enforcement authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend other fugitives connected with the case, and appropriate legal measures have been taken against the detained individuals.
The police emphasised that such proactive operations are part of ongoing efforts to curb organised crime and prevent planned robberies in the area. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local authorities.
