Ranveer Responds to Romance with Co-Star 20 Years Younger

The trailer for Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, was released on Tuesday and has quickly become a major talking point in Bollywood. Featuring a star-studded cast, the trailer has sparked widespread discussion—particularly around the on-screen chemistry between Ranveer Singh and newcomer Sara Arjun. The young actress is twenty years his junior, a detail that has drawn considerable attention from fans and the media alike.

Ranveer, now 40, appears opposite 20-year-old Sara in a romantic storyline. Speaking at the trailer launch in Mumbai, the actor addressed the age-gap conversation directly. Praising Sara’s performance, he said, “She has delivered an outstanding portrayal. Some people simply have that presence—despite her age, she carries a remarkably powerful character.”

Ranveer even went on to compare Sara Arjun to Hollywood star Dakota Fanning, noting her natural ease in front of the camera. Elaborating further, he added, “It feels as if she was born to make films. When you watch her act, you’d think she has already performed in fifty movies. As an individual and as an artist, she is exceptional. Among the brilliant actors I’ve worked with, she stands out. Working with her made me feel inspired.”

Sara Arjun’s talent has been widely recognised from a very young age. She first gained prominence at just four years old through her role as Vikram’s daughter in the 2011 Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal. She later earned critical acclaim for her performance in Saivam (2014). More recently, she portrayed the younger version of Aishwarya Rai’s character Nandini in Mani Ratnam’s period epic Ponniyin Selvan, further establishing her versatility.

About Dhurandhar

According to the production team, Dhurandhar shines a light on unsung heroes—individuals whose names rarely appear in history books but whose contributions are profound. Much like Aditya Dhar’s earlier hit Uri, the film aims to bring these hidden stories to the forefront.

Written, directed and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, the film is backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The cast includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal, alongside Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. Dhurandhar is scheduled for release on 5 December.

With a compelling premise and a dynamic ensemble, the film is poised to become one of the most anticipated releases of the year—while the Ranveer–Sara pairing continues to fuel conversation ahead of its debut.
