A harrowing incident has sent shockwaves through the community of Jessore, where a seven-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to a brutal sexual assault by a close maternal relative. The victim, who resides with her maternal grandmother for her schooling, is currently undergoing emergency medical treatment at Jessore General Hospital following the ordeal.

Details of the Alleged Offence

The incident reportedly transpired on the night of Monday, 2 March, at approximately 9:00 PM. The suspect, identified as Hafizul, aged 40, is the biological brother of the child’s maternal grandmother. According to family testimonies, Hafizul lured the young girl away under the guise of taking her for a casual stroll.

Instead of a walk, he allegedly escorted the minor to a rented residence owned by an individual named Afzal, situated near Jessore Medical College. It was within the confines of this property that the assault is said to have occurred. The family only became fully aware of the gravity of the situation the following morning, Tuesday, 3 March, when the child's physical condition deteriorated sharply.

Medical Intervention and Clinical Findings

At approximately 7:00 AM on Tuesday, the victim was rushed to the gynaecology ward on the third floor of Jessore General Hospital. Dr Habiba Sultana Foara, the Residential Medical Officer (RMO) at the facility, provided a grim assessment of the child's state.

Medical professionals confirmed significant vaginal injuries and noted that the victim had suffered from excessive haemorrhaging. Immediate clinical interventions were staged to stabilise her condition. Forensic evidence and physical samples have been collected for laboratory analysis to formalise the medical report.
