Reward of Tk 5 Lakh Announced for Information Leading to Recovery of Looted Weapons

The Government of Bangladesh has announced a reward scheme for the recovery of looted weapons belonging to law enforcement agencies. The maximum reward under this scheme has been set at Tk 5 lakh.

The announcement was made on Monday (25 August) by Home Affairs Adviser, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, following a meeting of the Core Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat.

 

The reward will vary according to the type of weapon recovered:

Short Gun / Pistol 50,000
China Rifle / Sub-Machine Gun (SMG) 100,000
Light Machine Gun (LMG) 500,000 (maximum)
Ammunition (per round) 500
