The legendary “Rihanna reign” shows no signs of faltering. As the global icon marks the tenth anniversary of her seminal studio album, ANTI, she has once again rewritten the history books of the music industry. On 28 January, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced a fresh wave of certifications for the Bajan superstar, spearheaded by a milestone eighth Diamond certification.
The accolade was awarded to the doo-wop-inspired ballad “Love on the Brain,” which originally peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2017. With this achievement, Rihanna extends her lead as the female artist with the most Diamond-certified singles in RIAA history—a testament to her enduring cultural impact despite a decade-long hiatus from full-length studio releases.
The 10th-anniversary celebrations saw nine tracks from the ANTI era receiving updated certifications. While “Love on the Brain” took the top honour, other standout tracks continued their upward trajectory. “Needed Me” and the Drake-assisted “Work” reached 12x and 11x Platinum status, respectively.
Beyond individual tracks, the album itself continues to defy gravity on the charts. ANTI currently holds the record for the longest-charting album by a Black female artist on the Billboard 200, boasting an incredible tenure of over 508 weeks.
