Rodrygo’s Goal Drought: A Shameful Record for Real Madrid

Rodrigo Goes, the forward of Europe’s top club Real Madrid, has been unable to score for an extended period. His last goal in the Madrid jersey came nearly nine months ago, during the Champions League round of 16 against Atlético Madrid. Since then, he has played 30 matches without finding the net.

Last Sunday, he came on as a substitute in the 72nd minute against Girona in La Liga, but again failed to score. This has placed him alongside teammate Mariano Díaz in holding the record for the longest goal drought in Real Madrid’s history. Out of the 30 matches, he started 13 and came off the bench in 17, contributing only 3 assists for the club during this period.

Real coach Alonso continues to place his trust in Rodrygo, but without goals, he may soon have to leave the club. In total, Rodrygo has scored 68 goals in 285 appearances for Real Madrid.
