Rubaba Daula Joins BCB as New Director

Corporate personality and female sports organizer Rubaba Daula has become a director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Executive Committee. She was formally appointed by a letter from the National Sports Council (NSC) on Monday (3 November).

With her inclusion, the 25-member BCB Executive Committee is now complete.

Following the BCB elections on 6 October, a controversy arose regarding one of the NSC nominees, Isfaq Ahsan. In today’s NSC letter, it was announced that Rubaba has been nominated in his place following his resignation. Another NSC-nominated councillor is Yasir Mohammad Faisal Ashik.

From 2007-08, Monwara Anis Minu served as the first female director of the BCB for nearly one and a half years. Rubaba Daula becomes the second female director. She will officially take her director position at the BCB meeting today.

Rubaba currently serves as the Country Director for Oracle in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan. Previously, she held CEO positions at telecom companies including Grameenphone and Airtel. In sports, she was the president of the Bangladesh Badminton Federation from 2009 to 2015 and has also served as a board member of Bangladesh Special Olympics.
