Saif and Nasum Receive Major Boost in ICC T20I Rankings

Bangladesh cricket received encouraging news this week as batter Saif Hassan and spinner Nasum Ahmed made remarkable progress in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Rankings, achieving the best positions of their respective careers.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) released its weekly T20I rankings update on Wednesday, reflecting the outstanding performances of Bangladeshi players during their recent home series against Afghanistan.

 Batting Rankings – Saif Hassan Reaches Career-Best Position

Bangladesh’s top-order batter Saif Hassan climbed 17 places to reach 18th position with a rating of 624, marking the highest ranking of his career.

During the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, Saif scored 82 runs, including a match-winning unbeaten 64 off 38 balls in the final encounter — a knock that helped seal the series for Bangladesh.

With this leap, Saif is now the highest-ranked Bangladeshi batter in T20 internationals.

Tanzid Hasan Tamim also improved his position, rising six places to 37th with 558 points after scoring 86 runs in the series. His opening partnership with Parvez Hossain Emon produced a blistering 109-run stand off 70 balls in the first match.

Emon, too, saw a jump of 18 places, reaching 53rd position with 504 points.

Bowling Rankings – Nasum Ahmed and Tanzim Sakib Rise Sharply

Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed was one of the standout bowlers of the series, claiming five wickets in three matches to become the Player of the Series. His performance catapulted him 87 places up the rankings to 44th position with 525 rating points.

Fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Sakib also made progress, advancing nine places to 33rd position.

Veteran pacer Mustafizur Rahman retained his position as Bangladesh’s top-ranked bowler, holding 12th place with 641 rating points.
