SBAC Bank PLC has formalised a strategic partnership with Best Western Plus Bay Hills Hotel, located in the scenic Himchari area of Cox’s Bazar, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to enhance value-added services for the bank’s customers and employees, reflecting a growing trend among financial institutions to integrate lifestyle benefits alongside conventional banking services to strengthen engagement and loyalty.
The MoU signing ceremony took place at SBAC Bank’s head office, marking a significant step in the bank’s efforts to expand its service portfolio beyond traditional financial offerings. Senior executives from both organisations attended the event, emphasising the importance of the collaboration. Representing SBAC Bank were Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer S. M. Mainul Kabir, Mohammad Shafiul Azam, Head of the Digital Financial Inclusion Division, and Deputy Managing Director Md. Altaf Hossain Bhuyan. The hotel was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Shahadat Hossain Bahar. The presence of senior leadership from both sides highlighted their joint commitment to the partnership.
Under the terms of the agreement, SBAC Bank’s debit and credit cardholders, as well as employees, will receive an exclusive discount of up to 40 per cent on room rates at Best Western Plus Bay Hills Hotel. The Himchari area, known for its lush hills, natural landscapes, and proximity to the world’s longest sandy sea beach, remains a highly popular destination for leisure travellers, corporate clients, and families.
Bank officials highlighted that modern banking increasingly extends beyond financial transactions, seeking to offer services that enhance customers’ daily lives. This partnership is expected to boost customer satisfaction, increase card usage, and strengthen long-term relationships with clients. Moreover, providing lifestyle-oriented benefits to staff is anticipated to enhance workplace motivation and engagement.
From the hotel’s perspective, the partnership with a well-established commercial bank is expected to increase occupancy rates, particularly among corporate clients and family travellers, while reinforcing the hotel’s reputation and visibility in the market.
Industry analysts note that collaborations between financial institutions and hospitality providers are becoming more common as banks seek innovative ways to differentiate their offerings. For SBAC Bank, the agreement represents a move toward lifestyle-oriented banking; for Best Western Plus Bay Hills, it provides a reliable avenue for growth, customer acquisition, and brand consolidation.
