At least seven people were killed on Sunday in Ecuador when gunmen opened fire at a bar, authorities have reported, highlighting the country’s ongoing struggle with soaring gang-related violence.

According to national police, all seven victims died from gunshot wounds at a pool hall located in the nightlife district of Santo Domingo, approximately 150 kilometres (93 miles) west of the capital, Quito.

Security camera footage of the attack has reportedly circulated online, providing a disturbing glimpse of the incident.
