Global pop sensation Shakira has officially cancelled her highly anticipated tour in India, leaving millions of fans across the country disappointed.
The Colombian superstar was set to perform in India for the first time in 19 years, a return that had generated significant excitement among her followers. Fans had eagerly awaited the chance to witness her live performances, anticipating a series of spectacular concerts.
However, organisers confirmed that due to last-minute security concerns, Shakira was compelled to cancel the tour. Her performances had been scheduled as follows:
| Date | City | Venue | Ticket Price Range (INR) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 April | Mumbai | Mahalaxmi Racecourse | 6,000 – 100,000 | Original show |
| 11 April | Mumbai | Mahalaxmi Racecourse | 6,000 – 100,000 | Added due to high demand |
| 15 April | Mumbai | Mahalaxmi Racecourse | 6,000 – 100,000 | Original show |
| TBA | Delhi | Venue to be confirmed | 6,000 – 100,000 | Planned concert |
Tickets for the concerts ranged from 6,000 rupees to over 100,000 rupees for VIP packages, reflecting the high anticipation surrounding her performances. Thousands of fans had already purchased tickets and arranged travel and accommodation well in advance to secure their spots.
The sudden cancellation has therefore caused widespread disappointment. The organisers cited ongoing conflicts in West Asia as the primary reason for the heightened security risks that made the tour untenable. A statement emphasised that the safety of both Shakira and her fans remains the highest priority.
Fans who have already purchased tickets are assured full refunds, which are expected to be processed within the next five to seven days. At present, no new dates have been confirmed for rescheduling the concerts, leaving fans eagerly awaiting further announcements.
While the news is undoubtedly disheartening for Shakira’s Indian fanbase, organisers have promised to work closely with security teams to explore the possibility of future performances once conditions allow.
