A cultural event titled Harmony of Friendship is set to be held today at Rabindra Sarobar to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Russian public diplomacy and Bangladesh’s Victory Day.
Organised by the Russian House in Dhaka, the programme will showcase traditional Russian folk dance alongside a live performance by Bangladeshi band Shonar Bangla Circus. The event will commence at 6:30pm.
According to organisers, the evening will open with a folk dance presentation celebrating the richness and diversity of Russian cultural heritage. Shonar Bangla Circus will then take the stage, followed by further cultural performances.
The event is dedicated to two significant milestones — a century of Russia’s public diplomacy initiatives and Bangladesh’s Victory Day — representing the enduring friendship, mutual respect and cultural bonds between the two countries.
Organisers described the festival as “not just a concert”, but a celebration of unity, culture and friendship aimed at strengthening people-to-people connections between Bangladesh and Russia.
The festival is being arranged in collaboration with Jumpstart Inc, as part of continued efforts to enhance cultural exchange between the nations. The event is free and open to all.
