Sia Furler continues to reign supreme as Australia’s preeminent Spotify export, according to the latest global streaming data.
The Adelaide-born pop icon has made history this week by becoming the first Australian artist to top Spotify’s Global Impact List twice. Her 2025 hit, Beautiful People, a collaboration with French DJ David Guetta, claimed the No. 1 position. The list ranks Australian artists based on streams outside Australia, highlighting which local acts are resonating internationally. Sia previously led the chart in 2023 with Gimme Love.
“Australian music is making waves globally like never before,” remarked Leah Harris, Spotify AUNZ Head of Artist & Label Partnerships. “The data demonstrates how artists from Australia are connecting with listeners worldwide in deeper and more meaningful ways than ever before.”
Kevin Parker’s psychedelic project, Tame Impala, had an impressive showing with seven tracks from their fifth studio album, Deadbeat, appearing in the top 50. Four of these songs landed in the top 15, including Dracula at No. 2 and Loser at No. 8, confirming the project’s international appeal.
Meanwhile, Sydney-born, Los Angeles-based artist The Kid LAROI also made a strong impact with seven entries. His collaborations include I Know Love with Tate McRae, at No. 3, and A COLD PLAY at No. 9.
Other artists featured prominently include Dom Dolla, Dean Lewis, Rüfüs Du Sol, Royel Otis, and Lithe, showcasing the diversity of Australian music finding audiences abroad.
According to Spotify, the United States remained the largest export market for Australian music in 2025, followed by the United Kingdom and Germany. Emerging markets are showing rapid growth, with South Africa (+99%), the Philippines (+64%) and Colombia (+53%) leading the surge in streams over the past three years.

Spotify itself recently reported strong growth in Q4 2025, exceeding expectations. Premium subscribers rose by 10% year-on-year to 290 million, while monthly active users grew 11% to 751 million.
“This reinforces the borderless nature of music today,” Harris added. “Australian artists are not just reaching global audiences—they are shaping them.”
