Sound Grenade Explosion in Gazipur

A sound grenade was detonated by miscreants in Tongi, Gazipur, on Sunday night at around 9:45 pm. The explosion caused panic in the Tongi Station Road area.

According to local sources, the grenade exploded with a loud noise. The miscreants threw the sound grenade from the flyover of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project onto the Tongi-Ghorashal regional road.

Pedestrians were frightened by the loud blast. Police officers, who were on duty at a nearby checkpoint, quickly arrived at the scene and collected evidence from the exploded grenade.

Wahiduzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Tongi East Police Station, stated that the miscreants fled after detonating the grenade. Based on descriptions from locals, the police have a lead on the suspects. No casualties have been reported.
