Special Police Training Begins Today Ahead of National Elections

A special training programme aimed at enhancing the professionalism, skill, and capacity of police officers in fulfilling their duties during the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Elections has been inaugurated today.

On Sunday, 7 September, the formal launch of the programme took place at the Rajarbagh Police Auditorium, presided over by Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Scope and Objective of the Training Programme

The initiative seeks to ensure that the national elections scheduled for February next year are conducted smoothly and safely. Under this programme:

  • Over 150,000 police personnel across the country will receive specialised training.
  • Bangladesh Police operates 130 small and 4 large training centres nationwide, all of which will host training sessions tailored to electoral duties.

Master Trainers and TOT (Trainer of Trainers) Structure

  • According to Police Headquarters sources, all trainers will undergo field-based, scenario-driven exercises to prepare for potential challenges during elections.
  • The programme emphasises comprehensive security measures, aiming to uphold law, order, and the smooth conduct of voting across the nation.
