Subir Nandi’s New Song Released Posthumously

Renowned singer Subir Nandi, who passed away in Singapore in 2020 while undergoing medical treatment, continues to enchant listeners even years after his death. Despite half a decade having passed, several of his recordings remain unreleased, preserving a treasure trove of his inimitable voice. Before his untimely demise, Nandi lent his vocals to a total of eleven songs composed by National Film Award-winning music director Tanvir Tarek. These recordings are now being gradually unveiled to the public, offering a poignant reminder of the singer’s enduring legacy.

Several songs from this collection have already been released to critical acclaim, captivating both longtime fans and a new generation of music enthusiasts. The latest addition is the song “Amar Ayu Niye Bacho” (Live with My Lifespan), penned by lyricist Zahid Akbar.

This melancholic, romantic track will premiere on the official “Sounds of Tanvir” YouTube channel. Simultaneously, it will be released across more than fifty international music platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, making Nandi’s soulful voice accessible to audiences worldwide.

Speaking about the project, composer Tanvir Tarek shared,

“Working on these songs with Subir da was one of the most cherished experiences of my career. Each track incorporates acoustic instrumentation to preserve its organic essence. For example, in ‘Amar Ayu Niye Bacho,’ the sitar is masterfully played by renowned South Asian musician Rahul Mukhopadhyay. The lyrics are exquisite, and Subir da’s voice speaks for itself. Even in today’s age of short-form content, there are still listeners who wish to immerse themselves in melody. This song is for them.”

Lyricist Zahid Akbar added,

“Collaborating with Tanvir is always a pleasure, but I had no idea this song was recorded by Subir da. I assumed it was never completed. Hearing my words come alive in his voice after all these years is deeply moving. I am confident listeners will experience the same enchantment repeatedly.”

Initially, a lyric video of the song will be released, followed by a thematic music video shot separately to visually complement the track. The recording took place at Kolahal Studio in Dhaka and Vibration Studio in Kolkata, with mixing and mastering completed at TFP Studio in Las Vegas.
