For the past few days, a chilly breeze has been sweeping across the northern region of the country, increasing the feeling of cold. As evening falls, a touch of cold spreads through the air, as if winter is knocking on the door.
According to the weather forecast, the temperature is expected to drop further in the coming days. In Rajshahi, the mercury has already fallen to 16 degrees Celsius. Within the next few days, the temperature in several northern and north-western districts may drop to around 12 degrees Celsius.
On Sunday, Bangladesh Weather Observation Team (BWOT), the national weather monitoring organisation, released this information.
In a Facebook post, the organisation stated that from Sunday night until the night of 15 November, the minimum night-time temperature in Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Rangpur, Kurigram, Joypurhat, Naogaon, Chapainawabganj, Rajshahi, Natore, Pabna, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Jhenaidah, Sherpur, Jamalpur and some surrounding areas may fall between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius.
In addition, during the same period, the night-time temperature in most parts of the country may remain below 20 degrees Celsius. However, the daytime temperature is expected to stay between 28 and 33 degrees Celsius, so the cold will not be felt much during the day.
Meanwhile, the 120-hour forecast issued by the Meteorological Department has also indicated a further drop in temperature in the coming days.
