Three live cocktails have been recovered from the main gate of the Grameen Bank’s Mathurapur branch in Dhunat, Bogura. The cocktails were discovered around 1 PM on Tuesday (November 18), and were later taken into police custody.
Ranjan Dutta, the branch manager of Grameen Bank’s Mathurapur branch, said that around 12:30 PM on Tuesday, two unknown women, disguised as customers, were seen loitering around the front of the bank office. They were wearing burqas. At that time, the bank staff was busy with official work inside the office.
After a while, a bag hanging from the main gate of the bank raised suspicion. When the bag was opened, three live cocktails were found inside. The manager further explained that it is suspected that the women, disguised as customers, placed the cocktails in the bag and quickly fled the scene. The matter was then reported to the police.
After consulting with senior bank officials, necessary legal actions will be taken. The bank’s operations are continuing as usual.
Saidul Alam, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhunat Police Station, said that after receiving the news, the police quickly visited the site. The three live cocktails were brought to the police station, where they were neutralized by soaking them in water. Efforts are being made to identify the culprits and take appropriate legal actions. However, the police officer mentioned that no written complaint has been filed by the institution yet.
