Three Friends Killed as Truck Runs Over Motorcycle in Rajshahi

Three friends riding a motorcycle were killed after being hit by a truck following a collision with an ambulance in Charghat upazila of Rajshahi.

The accident occurred on Friday (November 7) evening at Shibpur Chungatola area on the Rajshahi-Pabna highway.

The deceased were identified as Tuhin Ali (25), son of Habibur Rahman from Chamta area of Sholua Union; Maruf Ali (25), son of Mansur Rahman from the same village; and Shimul Ali (25), son of Abdul Matin from Badal village.

According to police, the three friends were returning home from Baneshwar Bazar in Puthia by motorcycle in the evening. When they reached Shibpur area, their motorcycle collided head-on with an ambulance coming from the opposite direction. The motorcycle skidded onto the road, and a truck coming from behind ran them over. Tuhin and Shimul died on the spot, while Maruf was taken to a local clinic where doctors declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Charghat Police Station Mizanur Rahman said two bodies were recovered from the scene, and one died after being taken to a clinic. The truck fled the scene after the accident. Legal action will be taken once the victims’ families file a case.
