Three Killed, Four Injured in Natore Crash

A tragic road accident in Natore’s Lalpur Upazila claimed three lives and left four others injured early on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 AM on the Lalpur–Ishwardi highway near the village of Nabinnagar, when a truck collided with an auto-rickshaw carrying six passengers.

Victims

The deceased have been identified as:

  • Babul Hossain – auto-rickshaw driver, resident of Chotobadkaya village, Dududia Union
  • Zahidul Islam – passenger, resident of Chotobadkaya
  • Monirul Islam – passenger, resident of Chotobadkaya

The injured, four in total, were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Two of the injured succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, while the remaining two are undergoing treatment.

Accident Details

According to Lalpur police and local sources, Babul Hossain departed Lalpur in the early morning with six passengers heading towards Ishwardi. Upon reaching Nabinnagar, a truck coming from the opposite direction struck the auto-rickshaw. One passenger died instantly at the scene, while the others were critically injured.

Immediately following the collision, the truck driver and his assistant fled the scene. Police and Fire Service personnel arrived promptly to rescue the victims and transport them to hospital.

OC Mojibur Rahman of Lalpur Police confirmed the details of the accident, stating that the search for the truck driver is ongoing and measures are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

This accident has left the local community in shock, with widespread condolences extended to the families of the deceased. Residents have also called for urgent improvements in road safety and stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies.
