Three-Party Alliance Including NCP to Be Announced This Afternoon

A new political alliance formed by three parties, including the National Citizen Party (NCP), is set to be formally launched on Sunday (7 December).

The official announcement programme will take place at 4 pm today at the Dhaka Reporters Unity in Segunbagicha, in the capital. The other two parties in the alliance are the State Reform Movement and the Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party).

The matter was confirmed in a message by Mushfiq Us Salehin, Joint Member Secretary and Media Cell Editor of the NCP.

The message said that a press conference will be held at 4 pm at the Dhaka Reporters Unity on the issue of “political and electoral unity” for those interested in upholding the pledge of the July uprising and building a new political arrangement. Leaders of the three parties will be present at the event.

Meanwhile, AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Bhuiyan Manju and Joint General Secretary of the State Reform Movement Didarul Bhuiya have also confirmed the formation of the new alliance to the media.

Manju told the media that the declaration of “political and electoral unity” for those committed to the pledge of the July uprising and the construction of a new political order will be made this Sunday at 4 pm.

He said the announcement of the alliance or unity initiative will come through a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium in Segunbagicha. Leaders from the National Citizen Party (NCP), the State Reform Movement and the Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party), along with several other parties, will be present.
