Three-Voice Anthem Celebrates Women: “Nari Jabe Bari”

A new musical tribute focusing on women’s journeys has been unveiled with the release of the song “Nari Jabe Bari”. Penned by acclaimed lyricist Shahid Mahmud Zangi and set to music by veteran composer Pilu Khan, the song features the collaborative voices of contemporary singers Somnur Monir Konal, Antara Rahman, and Masha Islam.

The musical arrangement has been crafted by Mir Masum, while an animated video accompanying the track is being directed by Mir Hisham and Saraf Chishti. Scheduled for release on 8 March, the song will coincide with International Women’s Day and will be available worldwide on all major audio streaming platforms. The video will be published on Azab Records’ YouTube channel and across the participating artists’ social media channels.

Speaking about the song, Shahid Mahmud Zangi said,

“Women spend their lives seeking a place to call their own. Sometimes it is their father’s home, sometimes their husband’s, and sometimes their son’s. But do they ever truly find their own space? This song explores that timeless question.”

Composer Pilu Khan reflected on the collaboration, stating,

“Over the past four decades, I have worked with Zangi on a wide variety of themes. This time, we have added yet another dimension, focusing on women’s lives and experiences. I hope listeners will connect deeply with the message of the song.”

Singer Somnur Monir Konal expressed her enthusiasm, commenting,

“I am thrilled to sing alongside two legendary figures. Working with both Zangi and Pilu is a milestone in my musical journey and an experience I will cherish.”

The song’s release on International Women’s Day is seen as both timely and poignant, celebrating the resilience and aspirations of women everywhere. Its animated video is expected to bring the narrative to life visually, emphasising the emotional and social themes embedded in the lyrics.
