Actress Iffat Ara Tithi, recently returning to the country, has publicly addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the death of Ikra Alvi, wife of actor Zaher Alvi. Tithi is one of the named individuals in the case filed after Ikra’s tragic suicide.
Speaking to the media, Tithi confirmed her return, stating, “I arrived in the country on 2 March with the full team. There have been widespread claims that Alvi did not visit his wife in her final days and was instead in Nepal with his girlfriend, but these allegations are completely false.”
She further clarified the circumstances on the day of Ikra’s death: “On the day she passed away, multiple arrangements were made to secure a flight ticket. The first day was unsuccessful, but the following day everything was properly organised, and we returned to the country together with the team.”
Rumours about a personal relationship between Tithi and Alvi had circulated in the entertainment industry for years. Following Ikra’s death, close friends alleged that this relationship had adversely affected her mental wellbeing, ultimately leading to her suicide.
Addressing these rumours, Tithi stated unequivocally, “My relationship with Alvi is purely professional. We have worked together for many years. In any office, working with someone for four to five years naturally builds a friendship. Alvi is one of my closest friends. I have made this clear in several previous interviews as well.”
