Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has decided not to accept the Kennedy Center Honour offered by US President Donald Trump. The actor, famed for Top Gun: Maverick, cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for declining the invitation.
According to a report by The Washington Post, Cruise was initially listed among the recipients of the award during Trump’s second term in the White House. However, he ultimately returned the offer, stating he could not attend due to clashing commitments.
President Trump announced the list of the 48th Kennedy Center Honours on Wednesday. The recipients include a mix of musical, theatrical, and cinematic talent:
